Medieval heart
Castello del Duca, also known in the past as Casale della Marciliana (or Marcigliana), is an ancient fortified hamlet that dates back to the Middle Ages. It stands on a hill on the outskirts of Rome in a dominant position and enjoys enchanting views. On one side we see the Marcigliana Nature Reserve, which is part of the estate, and on the other we see the beautiful Roman countryside across the Tiber plain as far as the Monti Reatini. Despite being surrounded by a beautiful estate of about 700 acres, Castello del Duca is located just 15 km from the centre of Rome. It is connected to the centre of the city by means of the Via Salaria and the railway line Settebagni-Roma Tiburtina-Fiumicino Airport. The Settebagni station is less than 10 minutes walk from Castello del Duca, where there is a train every 15 minutes which reaches downtown in about 30 minutes and Fiumicino Airport in just 1 hour.
The village of Settebagni, which is less than a 5 minutes walk away, is extremely safe and you can easily purchase most of the things you may need at two supermarkets and various local shops.
Within the estate of Castello del Duca, you can take long walks on the huge property which includes fields, oak and pine woods and olive groves.
